Draupati ,a wife of pandavas felt terribly sad but seeing the bleed and tore a piece if clothes from her Saree for tieing the finger of lord Krishna. By seeing the abundant love of princess Draupati, Krishna's heart melted and made a promise to her that he will care and protect her from evils. And as he promised, he protected her by extending her Saree when Draupadi was dishonoured on the court of Hastinapur .
